The Battle of the Tölensa River
Archaeologists have recovered human remains from no fewer than 144 people who died in a Bronze Age battle. The Tölensa Valley and its environs weren't particularly densely populated, so where did all of these fighters come from? A couple of different lines of evidence can help us narrow down the place of origin for some of those killed on the battlefield. If we compare them to our knowledge of late Bronze Age artifacts, perhaps we can catch a glimpse of the horizons of the people who died along the river.
