The Story of the Exodus
Themes of birth pervade the story of the exodus. The story begins with israel groaning for deliverance in the womb of egypt. Emmanuel shele helpfully discusses what the first born son is supposed to do. There are stories of women giving birth, of the midwives of jochobed and moses as an infant. When israel leaves eg they leave through bloody doors. They pass through a narrow passage from darkness to light and become a new people on the other side.
