The Importance of Fantasy and Sci-Fi

I went to a small liberal arts college in upstate New York. I was one of those weird students, like I min-macked my scheduling. So I took digital art courses and comparative media studies across film and literature. And so that's when it was like, Oh, that's a job people have, right? Okay. Was that inspired at all by D&D or just like RPGs in general? It was definitely inspired by RPGs.
