The number one thing about investing is starting sooner than later because of compounding. Compounding means that the gains that have been earned from your initial investment get reinvested. If you start at 22 and you retire at 65, you will be a millionaire simply by putting $300 and investing it. You can put up to 6000 in every year. But gets you to that nest egg when you retire and no one wants to work forever.
