The Problem With Error Correcting Codes
MIT students filled out all their tickets by hand while other players used the quick pick machine right they let the machine pick their numbers at random and this was very puzzling like why would they do all this extra work we can have to do. As I came to understand as I studied this more that can actually change the risk that you take on. This ends up being when you really sort of figure out mathematically what you're trying to do which is close to theory of error correcting codes developed by Claude Shannon in the 1940s.
