Every bonsai is the same tree as the regular species that grows out and gets huge. Black pines, Japanese black pines are a great example. They will use those as bonsai trees more often than not. All they do is you pull them out during the dormant season,. You clip the roots a little bit and you put them back in - it's an atrocious thing.
