Transgender Politics - What Was the Frequency of Events?
In the early 2000s, it was easier for me to get traction. But when it started interfering with my ability to organize events really ramped up in 2012. So I went to Australia in 2011 and that inspired me to create women only space here in Portland. And so we started getting threats. The idea that we were asking men not to come was the offense. We put up a list of local hotels that women could stay at on the website. It wasn't about transgender issues. It was about prostitution and domestic violence and abortion and feminist women's issues.
