Teaching Swimming in Gaza
The pool near Garza Port was no longer safe. The water became contaminated again after damage to the power and sewage treatment plants. Amjad is looking around for a site for his seventh teaching pool. He realized that Garza has an abundance of one thing, rubble. In an act that speaks to me of such resilience and a kind of poetic completeness, he built his most popular swimming pool yet.
