Paul's Third Use of the Law
In Romans 9 through 11, as Paul writes about God in Israel, he does not talk about Israel in the law. What people knew about Israel or about Jews in the first century was that Jews were associated with this particular law. It's a little bit Calvin's third use of the law. The law may be instructive, but it is not self-visit.
