The most consistent lesson for me, and I'm not recommending anyone try to replicate this, but the timing was also really good in that period of time. Choose people that you really like to work with because a lot of these startups are going to take if they turn out well longer than the average marriage. If you can operate in person, you have a huge competitive advantage.

Over his venture career, he has worked with such companies as GrubHub, Nextdoor, OpenTable, Stitch Fix, Uber, and Zillow.
