Kafka Review - Is This a Good Book?

The first chapter is taking several components each which kind of build up the sense of tension or complexity in the story. It's really having the other things in the back of your mind that makes it work. Our protagonist is immediately and magnetically seized by this totally uncharismatic and quite mad. Almost grotesque. But then also we encounter this this thing about him which is his innocence and also this strange sort of ghost confidence that he has. I think the first chapter is a real masterpiece.
