Kant and the Morality of Altruism

In the late in the post-enlightenment period altruism is clearly secularized by philosophers probably first by Kant. He makes crystal clear that from his perspective there can be no inkling of self-interested motive in the in a moral action. If you want to really know that you get moral credit if you're experiencing pain you have to be nailed to a cross, he says.
