Are Automatic Stabilizers the Ideal Way to Respond to Recessions?
There are limits to discretionary fiscal policy, especially in the middle of a crisis. But it does feel e in some ways that this could be a very blunt tool to respond to recession. I don't think that it's going to solve every problem, obviously, but there are few consistent problems that tend to happen that these types of automatic stabilizers could go a long way and address.
