Comparing the Bolsheviks and the Tsarists

In Mexico, comparing 1910 to 1920 produces some stark similarities. The presidency of Porfirio Diaz and the many faces of the PRI have very similar political monopolies over a nominally democratic system. There were also major progressive advances inside the Mexican Constitution of 1917. In France, 1848 ultimately produced the Second Empire, which fell apart in September of 1870.
