How to Use Visuals and Words in Communication

Sketch is always visuals and words, adding words to sketches is an integral part. We evaluate relationships through the visual information so we are really good at it. If you want to be precise and make things actionable then it's great to add words to it. And of course more robust if you can't explain it yourself if in doubt add in more redundancy.
