The Spartan Mirage

We know almost nothing about the spartans, apart from that military poetry. They don't really kind of tinker round the edges with it in 300 but they never can tell you outright. Most spartan women were beginning married until about the same age as spartan men - 18 to 20 years old. Women had a huge amount of power over their husbands and children. The idea here is having children would obviously have an impact on how people treated them. But there are also some very interesting insights into what life was like for woman in Spartan society who's not a hellot yet.
