I'm fascinated by Lewis's implication that there's something about this world that doesn't allow us to see it correctly. So if, if I have a view of eternity and a hopeful view, a restorative view of eternity, that find myself walking day to day in a world that is beyond troubled... very soon, I react with this unconditional kindness towards those around me. Like that is what we all need. We need God, obviously, but this world is brutal on so many levels that even just small acts of kindness towards one another or something that I can offer a fellow human being seems to be the way God is saying, this is how you love right now.
