The History of Ward's Company

In 1966, Alan Wertzels ends his private law practice and goes to join the family business. In 1968, the Ward's company joined the American Stock Exchange. The following year, Ward's makes a concentrated effort to buy up local chains,. converting them over to Ward's stores or launching them under a new name.
