The Asymmetry Between Unelected and Democratically Accountable Figures

There is this real asymmetry, I think, we have during the Trump years in particular between unelected and democratically accountable figures. No one elected Fauci. He survived for decades. And he was able to exercise tremendous amount of authority through his relationship to with Trump. The tech lords suppressing the Hunter Biden story or the intel officials who were involved in saying that it was rushed disinformation, none of them are elected either.
