I am currently being encouraged to pretend that when i was growing up, the b b c children's presenter was not black. When you turned over to the other channel to watch evening news, it wasn't a black man who was nighted reading the evening news. Now i'm irritated by this, sometimes infuriated by it, becasethey're trying to rewrite my memory of the recent past. But i have to accept at some level that if you are 20 years younger than me, and your being told you live in a white supremises society, nothing remembers these people.
