The age-old question within amadocacy is, should you support welfare work or be an abolitionist? I think that this debate echoes what you see in a lot of political and social movements. You have the kind of absolutist or radical folks who want to create change from outside the system. The pragmatists are really focused maybe on these like the short-term goals of reducing suffering.
