When it gets to a certain speed that I can't remember, but like, let's say, tenths of a second, you see the first letter. And then if a letter happens a long time later, you'll see that. But if the second letter happens right after the first one, you will miss it. It's called the attentional blink because it's like you saw the first one and now your eyes are closed for a second until the next one.
