The Importance of Taking Care of the Earth

If we take care of this planet, this planet will continue to take care of us. There's actually a good modern example. Some of you know that the refrigerant used in freezers and refrigerators, a chemical called Freon, was being released into the environment. It was causing a degeneration of the atmosphere so it would allow more ultraviolet light beams, light rays, to come into the earth. If it weren't for that, that ultraviolet rejecting layer of our upper atmosphere, we would all be subject to terrible skin cancer. We stopped poisoning the atmosphere with Freon and the atmosphere repaired itself.
