The Palazzo Quiericati: A Transitionary Project
The Palazzo Quiericati was built in the 1750s on an awkward site. The ground floor has a colonnade along it, raised like over a meter off the ground. It's one of the few statements in Palladio's book where I'm not at all reading anyone else. So yes, in a way, it's a bit like you've taken the inside courtyard and unfolded it to make this long thin building.
