Do Not Make Yourself the Hero of Your Story

Don't talk about how great you are. Don't say, but I did this of them and they all applauded. You're going to absolutely turn half of the listeners into enemies who would love to see you fail. Always cast yourself as someone who learned something in your story. All stories should have some element of mystery. And a great story is like that in terms of its story beats. It's filled with highs and lows and tension.
