What's the Southern Strategy?

The Republican Party has perennially made attempts to put up roadblocks to black participation in the political process. The lives of black men are too often taken by government authorities based on race, and there's one party that is much less likely to acknowledge or act on that policy-wise. Any honest political historian will tell you that the Dixiecrats who supported slavery and then supported segregation became Republicans. This is what's called the Southern Strategy.
