What Is the Nash Equilibrium?
If there's a dominant strategy, then life is easy because it says whatever I think the other person is doing doesn't matter. And so that allows me a real cheat out of this Gordian knot. There aren't that many games where there really is a dominant strategy. So we have to more often than not refer back to a Nash equilibrium to get a better sense of how we should play the game.
