The Importance of Digging Up Cornwall
There's a lot of copper and lithium in Cornwall, right? And there are talks about reopening mines. We could just dig the whole thing up. That would be the environmentally friendly thing to do right now. But I don't know if anyone really wants to dig up all those holiday homes. So one of the great productivity achievements of the past few decades has been that we have managed it to be even better at getting copper out of the ground. The question is whether we can have another one of those leaps again.
