The Funding Needs to Come From DHSC
There needs to be public information push on the fact that receptionists in GP practices are not just reception staff, they are trained to triage you. We've had funding for ARS roles since 2019 I think, so the funding is there for these people. If PCNs can get themselves to a position where those people are employed and logically rostered then absolutely people need to get used to not seeing GPs. Many times you know it is more appropriate for someone to see a pharmacist or an apprentice physician associate or an MSK specialist or whoever it is.
