Having appropriations and financing staff who understand education funding is very important. Having someone who was an expertise and money, but also understood classroom needs is critical. So I would say if you have, are fortunate enough in your state to have a staff person who also really understands education, utilize them as a resource for helping figure out the pieces of the puzzle.
