Colin says he had 15 pieces of shrapnel in his flat jacket that could have killed him. One shell landed very near him and basically destroyed all his kit. Had he been positioned just a few yards, a yard or two one way or the other,. He would have probably been killed as well. Colin: "You only need one bit of shrapnel going in at the wrong part of your body and that is it"
