The byzantine empire doubled down as the west became wealthy and lux ros. It systematized and normalized christianity, got rid of sects under one orthodox banner. They created this beautiful city with hagia sophia and the great cisterns and the hippodrome. And in the justinian law code, so they doubled down on what rome was good at and the second renaissance. But still the term byzantine is an adjective, usually of a majority of ative, of unimaginative regulations and rules at the expense of creativity. If anybody been to mistas to mistras, the bantum would have had very different ideas.
