Is There a Difference Between VSD Shunt and Pulmonary Capillary Wedge Pressure?

The only way to truly reduce pulmonary capillary wedge pressure in the setting of a VSD where you have a lot of recycling of flow is that you do have to still continue to focus on the diuresis. With regard to afterload, the two things you want to keep in mind are organ perfusion and also forward cardiac output. So I think with cautious monitoring, the use of a vasodilator can actually be beneficial.
