Do You Hate Paolo?

I don't hate anyone coming to the wedding, not real hate. Not even Mr. Briney or Domena from down the street who started dating my ex. I'm happy he and my mom are finally getting married. None of it makes any sense. Abuela frowns. You were sure there's no old enemy who showed up at the cafe recently? No. Evil former teacher? I'm sure. She choose her lip, just the right side, just like Mamata's. And I realize. Oh,  It's her. Inside my chest, something clenches and unclinches all at once. I hate her a lot.
