Protesters, demonstrators and marchers appear in such huge numbers that the regime simply cannot contend with them. The sovereign's ability to project physical force inside of their polity is quite literally unrivaled. By the time the final trigger is pulled years of resistance or frustration have already pushed former supporters into the ranks of either the opposition nor apolitical dropouts.
