Moatlama: I wanted to start actually with this idea of official anti-racism. And in the book, you say it's when quote, it became less acceptable to be openly racist. So that's where I really started thinking about how does emotion come into play here? Moatlama: In terms of the book, I really am so grateful for Jodi Malamud’s excellent work on what does it mean when anti- Racism is both defanged from material critique and turned into a cultural technology producing racialized subjectivity.
