Kate: Donald kagan was larger than life for all of us who were his students. He had amazing comic timing on top of everything else, the lessons that he taught. And as a seminar leader, he had the ability to step back and to let the class run the semi. In addition to all that, he was a man of amazing courage, astonishing courage.
