Passwordless and Past Keys

In a database passwords ideally are not stored in plaintext they're hashed and salted so hash takes one thing and then transforms it into another. You can do different iterations of salt which is like completely jumbles everything up to reverse engineer passwords. The most common one everybody is familiar with you know is the authenticator app that generates six digit codes for anything and scan the QR code on your phone.
