The Difference Between Positioning and Branding

The terms positioning and branding are often used interchangeably, but you believe they are distinctly different. Please explain how. Branding to me is the emotional side of that equation. Every company, just like every human, has an emotional side and a rational side. And branding work reflects the emotional side. So it's much softer, I would say. It reflects your strategy in terms of tone of voice and imagery that you use. The way you approach the market, how you talk about things. Very different from the rational side, which is really where are you on that competitive landscape that's unique and compelling.
