The Life and Times of Hawthorne

He wrote some stories in there while he was working as a layer and a gager. He got married in 1842 reportedly after winning a bet that his buddy would get married first, which did happen. Like Hawthorne, Sophia was a reclusive person through her early life. She had frequent migraines and underwent several experimental medical treatments. The Hawthorne's enjoyed a long and happy marriage.
