The Barricades of Paris

The barricades were used to control access to the streets of Paris. The purpose was twofold: from a tactical and strategic standpoint. They would prevent scattered enemy forces coming to each other's aid if street fighting broke out simultaneously at points throughout central paris. directing these efforts were old veterans of napoleon's army who had been simmering on a low boil ever since his abdication.
