The Problem With Hume's Empiricism
Cume holds that basically when we know something, we know the object. So this is Hume's account. Everything mantle is on this side. My problem is with the empiricist set up here. On this account, we have objects, which give us impressions. Those impressions are worked up in the ideas. Ideas are themed copies of impressions, which are copies of objects. That means that the content of experience is not the content of thought. Thought involves reasons. Experience doesn't involve reasons. A belief is justified by a reason. We're justified in our belief by some sort of reason. Why do you believe that? Because I think it's right.
