Getting Away From Those Raids
My duty was to go to one corner of the airfield while they drove G-troned it. I got away from there really a door and after they raid. And I actually drove through a German column that I've set out into the desert to look for us. Nobody noticed. I don't think they expected anyone to be behind. They'd stopped to have a cup of tea and stuff on the roadside. So I drove on and out and luckily joined up with somebody further down.
