The Fed's Attempt to Kill Inflation
I don't think we've licked the inflation problem. That's why we're not anticipating that the Fed's going to cut rates this year, even if there is a mild recession. We can address inflation through the credit channel by raising interest rates and also the continued dialing down of its balance sheet. It can also provide liquidity, which, yes, does hit the balance sheet.
