Creating Desirable Difficulties to Enhance Learning

A word desirable is a key. Even the difficulties that are desirable under most circumstances can be undesirable if the learners completely unequipped to respond to them. One of the keys to being effective actually manage your own learning, or in teaching other people, is to take advantage of what's called the generation effects. Anything you come up with and generate, you'l remember much longer than if you are just presented that information. But people have to succeed at the generation. If they fail, it is no longer a desirablepysic.
