Most modern myths provide no such insights into reality, or segue into the fullness of truth. Instead they present an inverted thermonautic not unlike Gnostic texts like the hypostasis of the Archons. They tend to denigrate the cosmic border and elevate vices to this status of veritable virtues. The divine is transposed into the human ego, and these are myths in the pejorative sense.
