The Importance of Writing Screenplays

Do you write your novels with a film in mind or is it always just the novel first? I don't think any of my novels are films, but they've all been turned into films. The idea that anyone would ever make a film of high fidelity, which is set inside someone's head inside a record shop. It's not naturally cinematic, but it connected with people who wanted to make films. That's why the film got made. And I never imagined actors and my books have quite a lot of dialogue in them because I like writing dialogue. But even that doesn't necessarily help with something being filmed.
