The Power of the Philosophy
It's pretty amazing. I don't understand how they were able to hold back. Marcus is given by his philosophy teacher, like a 25-year-old copy of Epictetus's lecture notes. And so in his meditation, Marcus is quoting Epictetus all the time. So you have this like powerless person influencing this very powerful person. But he does a good job or maybe stuck to it though. That's the one thing to be like, I'm going to hold to this, but then to actually have the position and still stick to your philosophy is a different thing.
