Rats Are a New First Responder in Natural Disasters

The rodents are fitted with tiny high tech backpacks carrying video cameras. The project created by Belgian nonprofit trains the rats to help first responders search for survivors among rubble and disaster zones. Once they locate the target, they pull a switch on their little vest that triggers a beep before heading back to the trainers to get a treat.
