"I don't think that Descartes set out to intentionally mislead people or use the wrong sense of motion. But we have evidence that in Europe at this time, the level of pedagogy was pretty low," he says. "So you can kind of see from the way that Aristotle, excuse me, way, the way that Descarte talks and specifically when he's talking to his friends."
